Today was Jake's 6th birthday! I think it would be safe to say that he had a pretty awesome day. He has been counting down to this day with much anticipation for weeks now. All we've heard from him this week are sentences starting with "The birthday boy..." He's been using this phrase to get his way with EVERYTHING! But it is his birthday week, so we let him go ahead and live it up! He woke up this morning to streamers all over his bedroom and bathroom and into the hallway - this was thanks to his Daddy, who snuck in his room very late last night to surprise him. Jake just happened to be awake this morning at 5:45 while his dad was once again SNEAKING out the door - this time to surprise Jake with donuts for breakfast. So Jake went with him. You would have thought it was Christmas morning all over again with how excited he was! Drew and I took Chick-fil-a to school and had lunch with him and then we had a little family party at home tonight.
Six dollars for six years old.
Excited to play ball with Dad.
Getting impatient with mom while she tries to take "the best birthday picture EVER"....which never happened! :)
Lighting the candles. I love their faces in these two pictures!
Our little birthday boy. We love you Jake! Thank you for bringing joy into our lives each and every day. I know it's hard for you to be the middle child sometimes, but our family wouldn't be the same without you right where you are. You're energy, laughter and smile brighten our home and make you extra special! I love watching you interact with others and seeing you make an impression in their lives because of your warm personality. You are so much fun to be around!
Happy Birthday Big Man! We love you tons!
