Drew's 4th Birthday!!!

I'm a little late getting this post up since Drew's birthday was actually last Thursday on the 9th.  We were too busy celebrating and welcoming family into town for me to worry about it.  Our family is all gone :(  and now I'm getting caught up. 

I think Drew felt pretty special and loved on his birthday.  He thought that Kaylee's breakfast in bed idea was amazing.  He wouldn't let me forget about that and reminded me the night before his birthday that he was expecting the same kind of treatment.  "Mom, do I get to eat upstairs in my bed too?"

So this is what he woke up to...

Chocolate chip muffins, apples with carmel and chocolate chips sprinkled on top with a glass of milk, made especially for the  Birthday Boy.

  

He also woke up to a decorated door and very homemade cards from the family.  I think you could say he liked this.   (Credit for the door goes to Daddy.) 

He finished celebrating the day with Aunt Lindsey, Uncle Nick and Uncle Bubby who flew into town that day from Utah and Arizona.  I think he thought they came just for him.  :)  I wish I had a picture of them for his birthday post, but I don't .  I'm not quite sure what I was doing...probably taking pictures of other things (shame on me) chasing around wrapping paper and lighting the cake.  I have pictures of everybody for Kaylee's baptism.  I will post those soon.  We are so glad you guys came and celebrated in Drew's day.  He thinks you are a pretty awesome bunch, just like we all think YOU are awesome Drew!!  We love you!  You always make us laugh and you sure get away with  A LOT  because of it.  Remember what your mommy always tells you..."You give the BEST hugs and kisses!!!"  Don't forget that either, especially where your mama is concerned!  Love ya bud!

Happy Bithday Kaylee!!!

 

It is Kaylee's 8th Birthday today!  It's always tricky with her birthday being so close to the 4th of July, so we started celebrating  this past Thursday.  She had been planning her birthday party for MONTHS now.  Probably since before Christmas.  Finally her big day came and I think it was everything she hoped for.  She invited 3 of her good friends over for a sleepover.  They started out with pizza and Dr. Pepper (her menu planning), then cake, ice cream and presents.  They headed outside to play in the sprinklers and on the trampoline.  Casey got home from work and took them to the pool.  Then it was time for jammies, painting fingers and toes and a movie (accompanied by popcorn and Twizzlers).  It was 10:30 by the time we put the movie on.  I thought the girls would be wiped out from playing outside.  They had other plans...the giggling and talking never stopped and then a pillow fight started at 11:30.  I let them have their girly fun for a little longer (only because I remember what sleepovers are all about.  Sometimes girls just don't want to sleep).  When midnight came around though this mama was done and had to put a stop to the fun...I'm such a party pooper!  I wonder what time they would have eventually crashed???

Kaylee requested a very nice dinner tonight and breakfast in bed tomorrow morning.  This girl LOVES birthdays and knows how to milk it!  Drew's birthday is this Thursday and Kaylee is getting baptized on Saturday.  Family is starting to come into town on Thursday.  It's also my brother and mom's birthday this month (they will be here for the baptism).  So, I think the celebrations are just starting.  It's going to be a busy week! 

{ 4th of July Weekend }

Happy 4th!  This is always such a fun weekend.  It's one of our favorite holidays.  It's a little crazy at our house with 2 birthdays days away from the 4th ( Kaylee and Drew), but we always have fun.  Our weekend started out with an early birthday celebration for Kaylee (a post of that to come) and then yard projects and more parties with friends. 

The boys tackled this pile of mulch and sand. 

One project always leads to another.  A couple of weeks ago, Casey moved our fence out to make our backyard bigger.  We love the extra room, but I was stuck staring at this ugly corner of nothingness, so we decided to make a big sandbox and add some flower beds.  They are such troopers to be out in the middle of the heat and humidity working so hard and not even complaining.  I can barely stand being out there for 5 minutes.  I am so proud of our boys always working with Casey.  There isn't a time that Casey goes outside that the boys don't go with him.  They love working by their daddy's side. 

This is a constant thing at our house, especially while doing yard work!

 

Kaylee got a snow cone maker for her birthday.  She was busy making LOTS of these this weekend!  We usually make homemade ice cream on the 4th, but this year homemade snow cones did just fine.

We ended our day with a pool party, friends and fireworks.

Our weekend was productive AND fun...just the way the Moes family likes it!

This time last weekend...

I was having a girls weekend with 3 of my best friends from growing up.  We hadn't seen each other in 10 years and decided it was time for a girlfriend reunion.  Our husbands were sweet enough to take care of things at home, so we were able to spend an extra long weekend in Las Vegas.  There was a lot of this going on...

     So beware.  Lots of pictures.  We had our camera's with us everywhere we went.  I just picked some of my favorite pictures to highlight our trip and all of the fun we had.  We all met at the airport on Thursday, coming in from many different places.  Then we headed to our hotel room where they threw me a surprise baby shower.  I wasn't expecting that at all and it was such a fun surprise.  I was spoiled with some of the cutest outfits!  I will think of you girls every time I dress my baby in them. 

The next day we had to pamper ourselves and go get pedicures.     There's our cute toes.  Pedicures are the best.  I admired our feet all weekend.  I still am! 

Our weekend consisted of many late nights giggling in bed, just like back in the day.  Lots of girl talk .  Laying by the pool, shopping, food and getting dressed up to hit the town at night.  We enjoyed hanging out at fun restaurants and people watching.  It was just fun to be together again and make a whole new set of memories. 

 

One thing I realized is how some things never change.  Time can go by, 10 years is a long time, but once you make great friendships time really doesn't matter.  It definitely didn't feel like it had been 10 years.  We stepped right back into the comfort of our old friendships instantly.  We each had changed so much.   We aren't the same people we were 10 years ago.  We noticed that all of the good things about ourselves, all of our strong qualities, were just better and much more a part of who we are today.  I guess that's what maturity and life's lessons do for you.  Being a wife and a mother teaches you a lot.  I'm glad that we can share our hardships with each other as well as our blessings.  I miss you girls and can't wait for our cruise in 2-3 years!!! 

{ 23 Week Update }

I'm actually 24 weeks, but these pictures are me at 23 weeks.  I'm always behind on my blogging these days!  Oh well...

This post is a shout out to my sister and sister in law who are pregnant also.  My sister in law Beth, is due on August 12th and having a boy  and my sister, Lindsey is due on November 4th and having a boy also (then there's me in the middle, October 13th, with a  girl).  My parents are  going to go crazy, jumping from 3 grandkids to 6 in about 2 1/2 months!  Beth and Lindsey are so good at posting pregnancy pictures and I'm so not.  I love looking at their pictures and reading their updates, so here you go you two.

Things are good.  Life is super busy and I have a really hard time keeping up, but that's life, especially when you're pregnant.  I had another ultrasound last week.  The first time around she was moving so much and they couldn't get a good picture of the umbilical cord, so they had me come in for another one.  It was so fun!!  I couldn't believe how much she has grown in a month and how much we could see.  She was still moving like crazy (I'm a little nervous she might take after her brothers and not her sister).  She has the cutest profile!  I haven't ever had an ultrasound later like this, so I was amazed.  I could have sat there and watched her all day long.  I saw her yawn...so cute.  The tech and I laughed and said she better be tired after all of that moving around.  Her toes and fingers and lips and everything just look perfect, including the umbilical cord.  It was a fun experience. 

I'm still really tired, but I'm able to keep some late nights again, which is good since that seems to be the only time I get anything done!    I'm getting a lot of braxton hicks contractions this time around.  I don't usually get those until the last month, but here they are.  They kinda hurt too.  :(  That just started with in the last week.  My appetite still isn't the best, which I'm bummed out about.  I'm usually a champion eater by now, but food just isn't appealing these days...I think it's because I actually have to take TIME to eat...who knew???  A little side note that I think is funny, is that EVERY TIME I sit down at the computer she starts moving and kicking like crazy.  I think she's warning me that once she's here my computer days are going to be limited.  So I better get it all in while I can, which means plenty of scrapbooking.  I'm going to have many late nights getting some books caught up.  There's nothing like a baby coming to get you motivated!
